20 amazing people from 13 countries come together on a Saturday night, dedicated to personal growth.
Last Saturday, we had the first The Journeys of Life Meetup of the year 2018.
As I said then, I was absolutely grateful to have been able to organise the meetup and stand on my own two feet, due to having suffered a concussion 2 weeks earlier. Going through this experience, I realised that life can change completely in an instance, and pondered what it would mean if I would not be able to dance every day, which is my absolute passion. So we started the meetup by recounting all the things we are grateful for, and then focusing on things we would like to change or do differently in 2018. We had some really great answers, with people wanting to make new friends, get to know Munich, learn a new language, take things more slowly and make a change in their lifestyle.
Then we talked about meaning, and how a goal should come from the heart. For if a goal has a deeper personal meaning for you, and you truly want it, not because everyone else tells you so, but because you know it's the right thing for you, this goal will be as big and as significant as the universe, no matter what it is. Everyone is individual, and everyone should go after what feels right to them, that's what makes us beautiful. With this in mind, we defined who we are, where we want to go and what we want to do in groups of three. This way people got insight from others they didn't know yet, which brought new ideas to light.
Everyone then got some time to themselves to really visualise something they want to achieve. To visualise and to feel it. And then we defined our goals clearly on a special goal card. Once we had the goal defined, everyone got to work in different pairs to help each other find ways to achieve this goal. This way, everyone finished off with an action step in mind, new friends and a whole bucket full of ideas.
The point of this meetup was for people to connect to themselves and to each other.
Beautiful things happen when we take a look into our own heart, and open ourselves to people around us.
Thank you to everyone who came and contributed. Thank you for being open, beautiful and supportive to those around you.
See you next time, on Saturday, 10th February, 6pm.
The topic: Finding motivation from within.
